Your computer 'Hardware' can be the problem!
This is probably not the problem with your computer, but it has to be mentioned because it could be the problem. After you have deleted the spyware and removed the virus you may have, if your computer still runs slow, then it is time to take your computer to a qualified technician to see if you are having hardware trouble. Check to see if you have at least 512meg of memory. This is the reccomended ram specifiactions for windows Xp, some older systems have 256meg of memory and this is not enough if you run multiple programs. If you are running the new Windows Vista, i would reccomend at least 1gig (1024meg) of ram.
Your best bet is to take care of these problems in the order listed, because even if your computer does have some hardware problem.
Other hardware that could..
Apart from your computers memory (also known as ram), it could be that your computer doesnt have enough disk space for virtual memory. On most modern windows operating systems (vista, Xp) I would reccomend at least 10gig free hard disk space. As not only does windows use this tempory space, other programs use some free hard drive space.
If your computer had only 500meg free disk space, I would expect it to run very very very slow!

Hardware question of the week!
Hello, I want to upgrade to a DVD burner. I currently have a cdrom, would the new drive be compatible with my computer?
If you have a cdrom, yes it would be compatible. It would require you to take off the cover on your computer case. Its a simple matter of unscrewing your old drive, and plugging in the new one in. If you dont have experience doing this, I would reccomend you take your computer to a computer technician, as this simple process can be done cheaply.
Good luck
